Tried to improve the “margins” of the orange flowers to cover up the rust colour. Didn’t succeed after hours of experimenting.
Decided to embrace the variations in the prints and see what happens .
Lots of carving today to take away the parts of the block that I want to keep as orange on the prints. Then I tried this sample of inking only the flowers with crimson red.
The first print shows promise. The orange and red really pop.
Maybe the unwanted “rust” flower edges will pop too, when against the ultimate background colour. Way too soon to tell!
